Standard mice are designed around an average hand. Omni tests a different premise: retain a conventional internal mechanism, but build the outer shell from the grip of the person who will use it.

Direction

I moved between physical and digital making: forming a hand mould, capturing it with iPhone LiDAR and Polycam, cleaning the mesh in Blender, rebuilding it in Fusion 360 and iterating the shell and internal structure through 3D printing.

Result

A working iterative prototype, modular shell system and complete presentation language spanning identity, campaign, packaging and process documentation.

The proposition became the campaign

Omni is not one supposedly universal form. The campaign makes personal fit the idea, using the mould, fingerprint language and product ambiguity as evidence rather than pretending there is one perfect final silhouette.

From hand to mesh

The defining move was physical first. The hand-shaped mould captured the grip directly; scanning and CAD then made that irregular form editable, repeatable and compatible with a conventional mechanism.

One system, from mould to presentation

The internal mouse stays conventional while the user-specific shell changes. Packaging, identity and process documentation were developed alongside the object so the prototype could be understood as a system, not just an isolated print.
